I hug my friends on id and love to eat the savian, I love splash the water balloon on anyone who is in mood to play on Holi, I celebrate the Christmas and I also respect the bond of rakhi, the valour of Sikh past and the fundamentals of Jainism, the Buddhist monk in orange and his discipline for life and simplicity. I love to go to Gurudwara and have prashad of langar. I believe in Bhagwat gita and the nobles of all religions.
Who am I? I am the new Indian.

There used to be a time when I used to believe in this illusion. But the last few years have opened my eyes.....things are not so easy. I stay with my roomie who is a Hindu (we have absolutely no issues with each other. She does her pujas and i offer My namaz....)and till today many people have asked her, How the hell do you stay with a Muslim roomie?? Trust me I have tried many times to think what prompts this question and every time i just draw a blank. I have many friends who have so issues at all about the whole think but on the other hand I know of people who will not eat anything just because I have made those things and it pains me a lot!!!!
I agree to you on this but I also believe that the new Indian is stronger.
A positive you cannot be left unappreciated. And if someone does something to hurt ur sentiments then he/she can't be a hindu. Reading books don't make Einsteins, sane goes for these low brain people.
A smart gal like you should not bother about them, for they are not at the same level as you. Believe in that. And believe deeply.

not just indians.. everyone ought to be like that
I hope for the same :)
Good concept to right about. Atleast it forced me to think about it. I am also trying to be the new Indian. The new Indian is above all religion and this is the best part of it. Religion is an insult to human dignity. With or without it, you'd have good people doing good things and evil people doing bad things, but for good people to do bad things, it takes religion.
I do agree to your views. But why define yourself by boundaries. Why not the new age Man/Woman rather than an Indian. My idea is once you start to identify yourself w.r.t something religion/boundary etc.. that becomes the root of the future problems which arise from it!But I guess we need to start somewhere .So maye start from the ground zero and grow on from there onwards.
Something to say?
